Argentine Tango
Argentine Tango was born in the late 1800's in Buenos Aires, and has been changing and evolving ever since. It is a beautiful dance form that provides endless opportunity for improvisation and playfulness.
May Series (5/7 - 5/28 2024): Close Embrace
Progressive series with Leslie Gordon
Everyone will learn to lead and follow.
No need to bring partners, we switch regularly.
7:00-8:00 Fundamentals- Dancing Close Embrace:
What's special about close embrace, and why do all the tango dancers love it? Get comfortable with walking and ochos, and start having fun in close. This series is ideal for new dancers, or experienced dancers working on fundamentals, or the other role.
8:00-9:00 Fundamentals- Practica
Stay for the practice led by some of the advanced students. We will review the material from the first class, and other tango basics.
8:00-9:00 Intermediate+ - Wraps in Close:
Polish techniques for connection, axis and changing embrace. Develop a variety of wraps that work best in close. Techniques for both leads and follows.
June Series starts 6/4/24 Ochos y Ganchos
Milonga/Practica:
9:00-11:00 -get your fix of alternative and classical music
-various DJ's
-large wooden floor to try your biggest
and wildest moves!
-now with air conditioning!! :o)
Cost: May series (4 classes)- $40 ; students $32
