Argentine Tango was born in the late 1800's in Buenos Aires, and has been changing and evolving ever since. It is a beautiful dance form that provides endless opportunity for improvisation and playfulness.

July Series (7/7 - 7/28 2015): Summer Intensivo Part I

Progressive series with Leslie Gordon

Everyone will learn to lead and follow.

No need to bring partners, we switch regularly.

7:00-8:00 Fundamentals- Tango Building Blocks I:

Learning and linking the basics. Often when learning to dance, you'll learn patterns but not how to put them together. In this series, we'll focus on what works, what doesn't, and how the follow can make everything so much better. Designed to get you comfortable dancing socially.. This series is ideal for new dancers, or experienced dancers working on fundamentals, or the other role.

8:00-9:00 Fundamentals- Practica

Stay for the practice led by some of the advanced students. We will review the material from the first class, and other tango basics.

8:00-9:00 Intermediate+ - Progressive Turns (AKA chains):

Transition effortlessly between walking and turns as you dance. There are many types of chains. We'll cover the different categories in parallel and crossed, show how they can easily incorporate sacadas and ganchos, and how to build your own signature moves.
