Argentine Tango
Argentine Tango was born in the late 1800's in Buenos Aires, and has been changing and evolving ever since. It is a beautiful dance form that provides endless opportunity for improvisation and playfulness.
More than anything, tango is fun, social and addictive, and we're always trying to corrupt new people.
February Series (2/3 - 2/24 2026): Turns
Progressive series with Leslie Gordon
Everyone will learn to lead and follow.
No need to bring partners, we switch regularly.
7:00-8:00 Fundamentals- All About Turns:
Introduction to all the basic turns in tango. Learn to move smoothly around the dance floor, in and out of turns with walking and ochos . This series is ideal for new dancers, or experienced dancers working on fundamentals, or the other role.
8:00-9:00 Fundamentals- Practica
Stay for the practice led by some of the advanced students. We will review the material from the first class, and other tango basics.
8:00-9:00 Intermediate+ - Changing Directions:
Fun ways to change directions with energy, a cross between rocking and a spin. . Develop key techniques for both leads and follows.
March 2026 Series starts 3/3/26 TBA
Milonga/Practica:
9:00-11:00 -get your fix of alternative and classical music
-various DJ's
-large wooden floor to try your biggest
and wildest moves!
Cost: February series (4 classes)- $50 ; students $44
drop-in before 9 (for 1 or both classes)- $15; students $13
drop-in after 9- $8; students $5
