March Series (3/2 - 3/30 2010): Turns for Beginning and Experienced Dancers

Progressive series with Leslie Gordon
Everyone will learn to lead and follow.

7:00-8:00  Fundamentals- Turns I:

Have you always wanted to try tango, but never had  the time, or maybe you have some experience, but would like to try the other role, or just work on the fundamentals to help your more advanced mores? This class will work on those tango fundamentals, teaching you how to survive on the dance floor and have fun doing it.

Turns are one of the basic building blocks for tango. We will learn to enter and exit turns from walking and ochos, and how to add musicality to your turns.

8:00-9:00  Fundamentals- Practica
Stay for the practice led by some of the advanced students. We will review the material from the first class, and other tango basics.

8:00-9:00  Intermediate+- Interrupting Turns- Changing the Axis:

So you've taken some classes, and dance tango at milongas, but don't feel that it's as smooth as it could be, sometimes get completely different moves than you thought you were leading, or wonder way the leaders never lead you in some more advanced flashy moves ..... We will fine tune your turns from both the lead and follow point of view, learn what the follow can do to promote higher level dancing, and learn how to use single axis turns to channel the follow's momentum with changes of direction.

What is my dance level?
