March Series (3/1 - 3/29): Giros y Enganches
Progressive series with Leslie Gordon
Everyone will learn to lead and follow.
7:00-8:00 Fundamentals- Giros (Turns):
The essential moves in Argentine tango are walking, ochos (pivots with steps) and giros (turns). This month we will focus on turns. If you're new to tango this series will get you comfortable with the basics and ready to go out dancing for fun. If you're experienced, we will dial in these fundamentals, reviewing the common problems for both leads and follows and get you ready and warmed up for the Enganches (Wraps) class.
8:00-9:00 Fundamentals- Practica
Stay for the practice led by some of the advanced students. We will review the material from the first class, and other tango basics.
8:00-9:00 Intermediate+- Mastering Enganches (Wraps):
Tango dancers flirt and play with their feet. Intertwining the lead and follow's legs is the ultimate play. We will learn to explore the space between our partner's feet, work on techniques for follows to encourage these moves, and dial in the distance and timing for the leads. The focus will be dancing enganches socially.
