Argentine Tango was born in the late 1800's in Buenos Aires, and has been changing and evolving ever since. It is a beautiful dance form that provides endless opportunity for improvisation and playfulness.
June Series (6/7 - 6/28): Close Embrace
Progressive series with Leslie Gordon
Everyone will learn to lead and follow.
7:00-8:00 Fundamentals- Close Embrace 101:
It's often intimidating to dance in close
embrace at the beginning. We'll work at getting comfortable with
walking and ochos, and just having fun in close embrace. Perfect for
beginners, or for polishing the fundamentals, and warming up for the
intermediate class.
8:00-9:00 Fundamentals- Practica
Stay
for the practice led by some of the advanced students. We will review
the material from the first class, and other tango basics.
8:00-9:00 Intermediate+- Levels of the Cross in Close Embrace:
So you dance in close embrace, but it doesn't
feel as amazing as other dancers say it does? We'll review common
problems and get it feeling good. Then we'll focus on the art of the
cross, and learn all the levels from ocho cortados through volcadas
with wraps.
