Argentine Tango
Argentine Tango was born in the late 1800's in Buenos Aires, and has been changing and evolving ever since. It is a beautiful dance form that provides endless opportunity for improvisation and playfulness.
Everyone will learn to lead and follow.
7:00-8:00 Fundamentals- All About Ochos:
Excellent introduction to tango with walking, and multiple flavours of ochos Learn the skills to be ready to go out danicng.. This series is ideal for new dancers, or experienced dancers working on fundamentals, or the other role.
8:00-9:00 Fundamentals- Practica
Stay for the practice led by some of the advanced students. We will review the material from the first class, and other tango basics.
8:00-9:00 Intermediate+ - Single Axis Turns:
Have you ever admired couples so well connected that they spin as a unit? These spins are smooth and feel so good. We'll learn how to harness the momentum, and how to encourage our leads to do these in social tango.
***April 7 Special- Live music with LOFT***
La Orquesta Fusion Tango- LOFT is a community tango orchestra comprised of local amateur musicians, many of whom are tango dancers. LOFT is sponsered by Project Tango..We'll have seating for non dancers so bring you tango curious friends. Admission for milonga/concert $5.
