Palo Alto, CA
Argentine Tango
Argentine Tango was born in the late 1800's in Buenos Aires, and has been changing and evolving ever since. It is a beautiful dance form that provides endless opportunity for improvisation and playfulness.
April Series (4/5 - 4/26): Crossed System
Progressive series with Leslie Gordon
Everyone will learn to lead and follow.
7:00-8:00 Fundamentals- Rhythm and Crossed System:
We personalize tango by playing with rhythm and
feet. Quicks and pauses add flavour to your dance. Changes of rhythm
also let us switch feet since unlike other ballroom dances, tango has
no wrong foot. You'll gain the confidence to never be on the wrong foot
again! Perfect for beginners, or for polishing the fundamentals, and
warming up for the intermediate class.
8:00-9:00 Fundamentals- Practica
Stay
for the practice led by some of the advanced students. We will review
the material from the first class, and other tango basics.
8:00-9:00 Intermediate+- Mastering Crossed System Moves:
Learn to love the crossed system for all the
variation it can add to your dance. We'll start by looking at simple
moves changed into crossed system and then explore what is unique to
crossed. Special focus will be on moves best done in crossed system
such as sweeps.
